I am on Worksheet #3 that I received today & I must say, this should be done in all high schools in America. When I was in 10th grade, we wrote an epitaph of ourselves, more as a writing exercise in English class (of course, we all died sports stars and millionaires) than anything else. This is much more detailed and thorough than a simple statement of long & short term goals. I am taking care to complete everything and am committed to getting results. Looking forward to future posts.
[DARREN HARDY] Good for you Suzanne! Thanks for digging in and PLAYING FULL OUT!

Hi Darren, I just heard about the Design your best life ever program and I am anxious to get started. So I am going to catch up on all the info that I can on your blog.
Thanks and I can’t wait to get started.

At first I thought it would be morbid to write your own obituary. But as I went through the process it was revealed to me that it was actually a blessing. To be able to write what good things I think I will be remembered for was very uplifting in a weird sort of way LOL
My self confidence after doing just the first two installments has tripled! I have a new lease on life!!!!
[DARREN HARDY] That is WONDERFUL Joy!! That is EXACTLY the experience we are after. I too felt it an odd experience to start, but the challenge really revealed the intention on how I really do want to lead my life going forward. I am excited for you!
[Reply]
Hi Darren! First and foremost – THANK YOU!! I have half-heartedly attempted to make a plan and set goals in the past. I am so grateful to have your guidance and encouragement to help ensure I FINISH!! This is an amazing process – scary, revealing, uplifting and exciting and I am so excited to see what comes.
I subscribe to the Success Club through Vemma and it is a highlight each and every month! I immediately upload the CDs to my iPod and read the magazine from cover to cover.
I have one question – does it make sense to also do the “Design Your Best Year Ever” process or will this cover that whole process?
Again, thank you and many blessings to you and yours.
D
[DARREN HARDY] This will cover the whole process, but you might find having the printed version of DBYE book a helpful tool as it also has an achievement planner to guide you the rest of the next year.
[Reply]
I bought this workbook last year! However I was one of those people who did not finish my commitment. Consequently, we did not move up last year, so am looking forward to working with everyone.
Interesting as we are talking about writing our epitaph cuz my best friend passed last Sunday & at church, Wednesday…maybe 40 people there. Really made me think!
Thank you so much, Darren for helping all of us be better!

Compliments of the season!!!
Darren, I don’t understand by “list 10 milestones,” can you please eloborate so I am specific with what I need to focus on and list about my achievements/failures accordingly.
Thank you so much
[DARREN HARDY] 10 highlights… 10 most memorable accomplishments… the ten things that stick out the most from the period in review.
mile⋅stone [mahyl-stohn] –noun
2. a significant event or stage in the life, progress, development, or the like of a person, nation, etc.: Her getting the job of supervisor was a milestone in her career.

I don’t know how many will admit it, but I found it painful to do worksheet #1. At 56 most of my life has beeen a mundane existence. I just beginning to start working on myself (Jim Rohn) about 11 monthts ago. So many blank spaces for the 10 years questions, not so bad for the past year. More of the same pain on worksheet #2.
I want to thank you though for putting me through this pain for I swear that if I ever have to fill out questions like these again in 10 years I will breeze through with clear, precise and exciting milestones to list, knowing who I admire, a healthier body and a life that is exciting at 66.
I am committed to changing my life.
[Reply]
Love your analogy of the gates that we have chosen to go thru. I use a similar one with my athletes, always reaching to do more than the next guy to make ourselves that much better. This is good stuff, Darren. Appreciate it!
[Reply]
Wow! I have really been enjoying the process thus far. This is A LOT of work but I have no dobut the pay-out will be well worth it! I also want to thank you Darren for the video message. It is motivating and a good reminder that we are not “alone” in this process. So, thanks for taking the time to reach out to your followers!
I appreciate this opportunity for self-reflection and purposeful goal setting. I am grateful that you have made these resources available for FREE! I have been sharing the program opporutnity with everyone that will listen.
[Reply]
I have done a lot with my life thus far…YET…I always knew I needed like a plan for my life that dug a little deeper. The worksheets have helped and I have sent others that I care for to this course as well. Thank you Darren.
[Reply]
I have to say that I am fearing doing the second set of worksheets but I know that the fear is a fear of the truth as to where my life has been. I am commited to getting through the entire process and am looking forward to having a clear vision of the next 10 years of my life. I hope you’ll be around to keep the motivation going and I thank you so much for the time and energy you have put into this program.

Aloha Darren,
Thank you for this offering. I completed the “gratitude” installment and I am loving this process. I have not yet received installment # 2. It is friday evening and it is my understanding that we should have received session 2 by thursday night? Hoping to start right in on this work asap.
in gratitude
Monica W
[DARREN HARDY] Sorry to hear that, Monica! Sometimes the emails are just a bit delayed but hopefully by now you have received installment #2. Just in case you have not, I’ll have it sent to you asap.

Darren,
you are truly following in your mentors footsteps–This is really thought provoking stuff and, at age 61 I am ready for big changes in my life–the past 10 years found me not being able to fill in all the blanks– last year was easier and this year will be the start of my obituary—I am committed to changing my life–Thank you for the vision

Thank you Darren for encouraging me to truly take the time to evaluate my life. Worksheet #1 was difficult, especially the 10 victories. Worksheet #2 Gratitude was good. Now worksheet #3 is definitely going to be a challenge, but I will do the work. After all, it is my life, right?
[Reply]
Darren, the first 2 worksheets really made me think, and I made it a point to just be honest. I have quite a few milestones, but I see room for so many more. God willing with this journey under my belt, I am going to take hold of opportunities waiting for me this year and beyond. Now it is time for worksheet 3, and this is a major reason why I need to plan and grab onto “my life.” Thanks for the journey…….

Darren! Thank you very much.
I read the magazine every single month and when I drive I listen to the success CD, I rarely listen to the radio now, and sometime I go back and listen the ones of the previous months again, because I don’t want to forget the information, I just refresh my memory,Success Magazine is the best I have ever read, and with this program (Design The Best 10 Years of your life) it completes everything.
I’m on the worksheet no.5, Mission. On the exercise on the bottom of the page should it be “My mission statement “ or is it ok the way is written
“ My vision statement”?
Thank you
[Darren Hardy] Giuseppe – YOU ARE RIGHT! Great catch… good to know you are going through it! When the next installment comes out I will have that corrected if you want to re-download a corrected version. Thanks!
[Reply]
I’m excited about started this program. I have to say that my life in past ten years has not been that grand, but I’m assured that the next ten will be one of my best. Success magazine, ever since my first issue, has been a great inspiration to be. I plan on taking this program and changing mine and my family life for the better.
God bless you

The 10 major milestones had me stumped but one of my wonderful people on my list (my daughter who is home from college for the Christmas break) reminded me of some I had accomplished and had forgotten about.
I had just read recently from the Getting Things Done guy that we should write down things we have completed at the end of the year to bring closure to them. Now I see why he suggests this. It gives me encouragement to make bigger plans because I can see I have accomplished worthwhile things in the past.
Your next worksheets look good, and I’m going to complete them this weekend.
Thanks for offering this course. Right now we’re on a tight budget with our family paying for college for our daughter. So, this comes at a great time as I’m working on this goal, among others.

Hi Darren, Happy New Year from Howick Auckland New Zealand
Wow this is powerfull stufff…
I have spent the last 2 mornings , writing my thoughts to the first section, this has you thinking really hard , about what you have done, before and where you want to go tomorrow, it took some effort, but i got it done, now for the next section, i am finding as i go along it becomes a little easier, to pull out the information, to put it all together, and i am finding it quite exciting to learn about your self , and what is possible, i am looking forward to what comes next.
many thanks for sharing this with your followers.
Make it a great week Regards Theo

Thank you so much Darren for putting this program together. The content is excellent and the combination of email, blog and video are a great learning method for keeping us on track.
I have been running programs in high schools in the UK and would like to adapt some of the material – would that be possible?
Many thanks

I love my obituary! What a weird thing to think. All I know is that I just can’t wait to get started making it real, and I suppose I already have.
This is definitely hard work Darren, and I am loving it. It brings to mind your interview with Guy Kawasaki, where you two talked about being willing to grind it out. I know it’s in a different context, but it seems to me that that is what we are doing here in this program – doing the work, going through the process, and grinding it out.
Thanks for the encouraging video.
[DARREN HARDY] You are right on the money Rich – yes, Guy told us what it takes to be successful is HARD WORK… and we need to be willing to “grind it out”. Grind it out y’all… you are building a LIFE!
Stay strong everybody.

This is the most intresting thing I have ever done. I thought I would feel sad at writing my obit but I felt empowered. It made me feel like working backwards towards the things that I wish to be said/written. I only started reading success Mag about 6 months ago and I can already see the difference it has made in my life. I actually have written down goals and put them in a visable place and started to execute them. I am feeling accomplished as the last three weeks have been better that my whole last year. I realize from doing the work sheets that my closest friends display very few qualities that I would seek to emulate. They appear to be direction oriented but they are not. What does that say about me ? And the only answer to “name three amazing people in my life ” was my daughter . I was saddend by that. Any way im looking forward to the worksheets for next week. Its like a gigantic mirror and you have no choice but to look in… Scary

I must say Darren that this has been challening. I am a single mom of 4 and I’ve thought raising them was amazing Alone. Your program has brought so much MORE to put in place for my steps forward in life! Thank you for this opportunity to make a mark and leave a legacy! I’ve actually had a challenge in printing the forms out as I thought we’d be able to Save them somehow. I print the forms off at work then re-fill out what I’ve kept on my browser at home as we’ve not had the money to fill our ink in our printer. Greater accomplishments are ahead tho and I’m totally interested in making my future better with my 4.
Blessings in your opening this to us and the encouragement you give. This wk end I’ll finish the 2nd installment of the worksheets and am really Grateful for your personal videos too. It’s good to SEE You and hear you there for us All the way! This time I’m Finishing a class. Never finished college as I became a mother and got too busy and then alone. Well, Now is the time and I’m Very Encouraged…. Thank you Again!!

This is program is so different than any of the others I have tried. The questions are real eye openers. They really make you stop and think.
[DARREN HARDY] That’s RIGHT Susan! Good for you for gutting it out and going through it too!!

Thank you so much for offering this program. I am already experiencing success from the work this week as well as the tools you are offering. I am a healthcare sales professional and implemented suggestions from your “Art of chit chat” and was amazed at the response. I asked one question of one of my referral sources and she went on and on and on, I learned so much about her which gave me new insight on how I can be more successful in that business relationship. I had set specific weekly goals, which would seem high by company standards, but reached them easily the first week of the new year. I can’t wait to see where I will be by the end of 2010.

Hi Darren,
I am going through this great process with my husband and we both are struggling with the section on 3 risks you wish you would have taken. Neither of us feel we have missed anything along the way and in fact everyhting we have done has brought us to the place we find ourselves today… we wouldn’t change it for the world! We dont feel this is a bad thing. We are not trying to be ‘greater than thou’ or anything… we are thouroughly enjoying this process and look forward to each installment.
Jenn
[DARREN HARDY] There are no wrong answers Jenn and if you don’t have answers for some questions that is OK too. The major point is to get you to stop, think, assess and consider. I would challenge the thought a little however – are you exactly where you want to be in life right now? If not, there were probably some risks you could have taken along the way that would have elevated your success to date. Even if they were relationship risks – people you could have connected with but didn’t, people you could have been more vulnerable, giving, considerate to (at the risk of your own ego, self-protectionism, etc), pressed your body further, farther, harder to be in better health than you might be now, stepping out and taking a leadership role in your community, church, office, peer group, etc. “Risks” don’t always mean financial risks or job risks, they can be relational, personal, physical, etc.
[Reply]
I didn’t realize how much of my life for the past few years has been on cruise control until I began working on these worksheets. It’s hard to not be confronted with that truth when the evidence is right there on the paper! You are forcing me to dig deep into areas that I’ve let remain dormant for too long, and this first week of the program has been extremely challenging — and convicting! — for me. I especially loved the gratitude worksheet!! I am looking forward to the next week of worksheets, and for the continued to delving into my future! Thank you so much for providing this; it’s a wonderfully generous gift you’ve given to me, and to others…
[Reply]
Darren,
I have been reading leadership books and listening to personal development audios for about two years. However, I have not implemented any real change in my daily habits. I am mindful that I have to change my habits and disciplines to improve my life and this process will help me to actually put those thoughts to action. My recommendation to myself and to others is to not let anyone or anything distract you or stop you from completing this process.
Thank you for following through on this process. I am sure you thought of this and then had some internal and external pressures not to do this. Keep believing and moving forward with this process. You will change many lives and change the world.

I’ve filled out many of these “introspective” forms as part of my personal goal-setting before, but these so far have been the most soul-searching (which also makes them the most difficult and time-consuming). I’m enjoying the process so far. I did sign and tape my Commitment Pledge up on my wall (in for a penny, etc.), and think it’s a nice touch that you’ve got yours posted at your desk, too!

I just heard last night! I’m in. This is new, exciting and I know it is life changing. I am getting older and ready for it!

I have gotten started on the worksheets, expected them to be in depth, which they are and this process is taking me into area’s that are really making me realize more about myself both good and bad. I am sure I will gain immeasurably from this program. Thank you.

I may sound like my kids now, but here’s goes….THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! The first worksheets on Review and Gratitude had my completely lost for words. However, by the time I got to Contemplation, Core Values, Mission and Vision, my juices were flowing and I was actually able to answer a bit more than on the first set. Now I am acutally thinking about different areas of my life in another light. At a time, I use to feel sorry for myself because I have always been labeled as a statistic (sinlge mom of 4) depending on gov’t for assistance. Now, I am determined I will not continue to be a statistic. I will do the unexpected of those who doubt me. I have risen to a new level of thinking and I intend to pass this knowledge along to my children (because my family are thinking I am nuts). We shall see who are nuts later!!!!! Darren, I just can’t thank you enough!!!

I accidently stumbled upon Success at the book store and just sat down and began to read it. When I got home I immediatly log on and went straight to the Success.com and there was Darren Hardy. I was intrigued with Designing the next 10 years of my life and couldn’t wait for it to start. Like others when I came upon all the questions about milestones I’ve accomplished in the past 10 years my mind went blank. It really just made me sit there and think. I sometimes wish I had done a few things different but raising children seems to put your wants in the back burner and I always put others before myself. I’m really excited about this process and my hope is that I truly commit to finish this, start taking more risks and finally do something for myself. I’m excited for the next ten years and more. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Hi Darren
Thank you for this inspiring course. I actually wrote my obiturary. i am not sure if I was to write it as it is in this present time. Half of it was but the other half was the future. What surprised me is what I wrote about the future and the way people would see me. In all my dreams and visions and things I said I wanted I never saw this, it totally blew me away.
Thank you for the questions, yes I have found some of them quite hard to answer, I have had to stop and think long and hard. Some things have surfaced from deep down. However I had put a question out to friends and family regarding another project which actually helped me in answering some of your questions.
I was asked to ask what top 5 things that came to mind when people thought of me. I sent that out to about a dozen or more people 7 have replied. What surprised me is some of the answers. Again some of those answers were natural but some of them I was totally blown away again what people saw in me and i had no idea that is what they saw which was very positive and empowering to me.
I am working on my mission statement at the moment however I still wish to thank you this inspirational idea of yours it is helping me more than I thought possilbe so I am truly grateful for your time, energy in doing this.
Thank you

Happy Weekend All! Finished working through the second set of worksheets. What great work!
One thing that I have found interesting is working on regrets. I have been working on personal growth and development stuff for a long time. I am optimistic anyway but my work in this area has always taught me that looking at the positive and focusing on the positive is what is good, so… as I worked on regrets I found this a bit difficult as I live my life that even when I do something “wrong” or something bad happens, it has taught me something so how can it be a regret? I see looking at things in a different way can help you improve your life and continue to help you move forward — however — I would be interested in seeing other comments on how they look at this or deal with this dichotomy.
I have never written my obit before even tho I have seen the exercise before. Going through that and then the mission and vision was great. I think the way the exercise leads you into this makes the exercise easier. When I got done using the cues and writing the mission and then read the entire thing as one… I was pretty satisfied with what ended up there. It was cool!
Thanks!!

My daughter sent me your link. I had her work on a goal visualization while she was visiting for the new year so she knew I would be interested. I have had an idea brewing for some time about working with school children to help them set and visualize goals. This is the year I put those thoughts into ACTION. I subscribe to Success magazine and have sent subscriptions to my children and grandchildren. I am excited about this upcoming year. Thank you for providing ways to keep me on track.

I subscribe to Success magazine and I love thebideas and hope it brings to me each month. Thanks Daren
[DARREN HARDY] Funny you should say that Martin. Yes it is just my Flip camera and my desk lap shining in my face. I am buying some amateur lighting package because I thought it actually looked pretty bad. Thanks for the kudos anyway.

My husband & I just completed our tasks – we had a busy week but we did not understand the volume of material or the commitment. So we gave up date night – changed some priorities – (we did not clean the house – oh well it will get done!)
We are committed and already we are working better together – we laughed because Jim was going to date his obituary – no do not do that. Remember our goal for the next ten years was to strengthen and change our marriage.
Question – what is the difference between your vision and your mission?
Question 2 -We both had a hard time putting this on paper – as much as we are planning for other areas in our life – marriage is key. So should we have one vision & mission that includes the goals of just the marriage because we are a couple? OR do we include our goals in our individual mission because we are individuals?
[DARREN HARDY] Question 1: The document explains difference EXCEPT the document had an error and said Vision twice (our bad!). First one pg 6) should have said Mission.
Mission is who you are and how you will live.
Vision is your Mission and Core Values rolled up into a vivid, idealized description of a desired OUTCOME. Essentially the idealized outcome of your life.
Question 2: You should both first define the exercise individually. In my experience marriage is two whole people coming together to share themselves with someone else – not two halves coming together to make one (not the movie lore of “you complete me”). As Jim Rohn would say, “I’ll take care of me for you, you take care of you for me.” Once you both get clear on who you are individually, what is important to you (your core values) and what you want to achieve in life (mission), then you 1) will know how to support each other better and 2) can figure out how to best come together and formulate core values, mission and vision statements as a marriage and as a family.
Make sense?

Dear Darren,
Thank you so much for the installments. It took me 1/2 of day to finish the second one. Now comes the action part. The truth is or my worst fear is asking for help. I feel people is not willing to give “free advice” towards a new business I started. At the beginning I had much enthusiasm and now I’m struggling to even keep it alive. This is the reason I started this program with you. I thank GOD for people like you.

Dear Daren!
We are from Lithuania, and we are very excited about this program! Since the English language is not the main language in Lithuania (LOL) we ask you for a little help with on part in the WORKSHEET 3.
“Three major loose ands that will burden those left behind”
Can we ask you say the same sentence but in more simple way?
With the greatest LOVE from Lithuania
Renatas & Vilma
[DARREN HARDY] Hi Vilma from Lithuania! If you were suddenly gone, is there any unfinished business… or responsibilities that would be difficult for your loved ones to deal with. For instance, my answer to the question was my – needing to update my Last Will and Testament, updating my life insurance policies to be sure the death benefit matches a financial payout that would support my family for the rest of their lives, organize all my financial, account and password administration so everything is trackable, etc.

As part of my new commitment to expressing gratitude on a daily basis, I wish to sincerely thank you, Darren, for putting this program out here for all of us to work through together…There isn’t anything especially new here in terms of content – I’ve heard John Maxwell discuss what he calls your “Life Sentence”, mission and vision statements have become common place, and in the comments refer to some great cross-referencing to Tony Robbins, David Allen, and Jim Rohn…The difference is, I’ve never really acted on any of them – let alone all of them in one program with the encouragement and public forum for discussion that you are providing…As Harvey MacKay indicated in your relatively recent interview with him, knowledge is not power unless it is put to use…Thank you for the call to action, and the push to carry on…The format and feedback are first-rate, and you have single-handedly provided me with the means to put all that I’ve read and learned into focused practice…I may have to provide the proper attribution in my eulogy
Thank you, as well, to everyone willing to share their experiences as we go…It is a difference maker for me in sticking with it…
With A Smile
Will
[DARREN HARDY] Thanks for TAKING MY CALL Will!!

About ten years ago I lost my inner desire to succeed. I just about gave up on everything after I got a divorce from my wife of 30 years. I tried many things and had found nothing to re-inspire me to success. I joined National Companies last year and they started sending SUCCESS Magazine each month. I read every article and listen to the CD many times. I read about Designing the Best 10 Years of Your Life in the December issue and I signed up. It is the hardest work I have done since High School, but I am thankful I signed up because this is renewing my desire for Success.
Thank You so very much.

I have never done so much thinking about my life as I have in the past week thanks to this journey that you have us on!! For several years I used to play the organ at the local funeral home and of course at each service I would hear eulogies about those who had passed — most of whom I did not know. It was usually the basic things “i.e. she loved gardening and she loved spending time with her grandchildren, or, he was a member of this group or that group and was respected by those who knew him, etc. etc.”. And many times it caused me to think about my own life and what I would be remembered for. But I usually didn’t spend too much time on that …..guess I thought I was too young then to worry about it! If only I had spent more time then on planning things better. This process is hard — my first thought after reading the first couple of pages was a bit discouraging….what were my my successes in the past year? DId I have any? So I put it away for a day but thought of nothing else! I picked it up the next day and started to bit by bit write down my thoughts and was encouraged by some of the things I did and reminded of things that I have taken for granted. Thank you so much for making this process available to me!! I don’t think I will be the same person in 2010 that I was in 2009! I’ll be much improved! Looking forward to the next several weeks.
[DARREN HARDY] Thrilled to hear how this process has affected you Jayne! Bravo!! Thank you for sharing!

Darren,
1) Your 3% was right on the dot. I sent invites to 20 of my closest – family and friends. To date only 6 signed up. Not to worry, I keep encouraging and challenging the others.
2) Obituary – You caught me on a Sunday, alone. My wife was out of the house with an other activity. The dog just kept looking at me wondering why the tears. I wrote my tombstone about 20yrs ago and I have carried it in my wallet ever since. It’s a very powerful reminder… I encourage others to reduce their Obituary to the size of a business card. Put it in your wallet or purse. You will stumble upon it every now and then – and the epiphany recreates itself. It’s like that special song, you can w/o hearing it for months/years, then when you suddenly hear it play -you recall every word, note and detail surrounding that very special moment.
Thank-you for walking us through the process!
[DARREN HARDY] GREAT idea Phil! Thanks for passing along. I think I will do that!

Hi Darren,
I had written down my goals and actions last year (and am proud to say it helped me have my best year), then in December I purchased your “Design Your Best Year Ever” book figuring it would be even better to follow an experts plan. I got started on the program immediately, but had not completed it when the “Design Your Best 10 Years” program started. Although there is some overlap in the exercises I am having trouble managing both these programs at the same time. Obviously the 10-year program provides the base for desiging my best year, but I also want to get moving on my goals for this year and not wait until the end of December. My thought is to set my goals for 2010 right away and take action. Then once we complete this program I can adjust any of the goals for 2010 that don’t end up being in line with my overall 10 year plan. Would you agree with that or do you have other advice?
[Reply]
This program is awesome! I’ve known my life’s vision for quite some time and I did not have any kind of structured plan and I quickly lose sight of it. This has caused an awakening in my soul so that I may now proceed forward with extreme confidence and clarity. I’m so grateful that you are providing this information and right at the time I was reflecting on my life it showed up. Thanks for your work.

Last week, I had lunch with a friend I used to work with in a bank. After catching up on each other’s news for half an hour, I gave her a couple of copies of the success magazine I’m a Contributing Editor to.
Her response: “Does this self-help stuff really work?”
Ther irony was she’d spent the previous 30 minutes gushing about all the extraordinary successes I’d achieved.
Personal improvement is the basis of success in any area. As someone who reads 52 personal improvement books a month, while some of the questions are familiar, I’m gaining insights into myself.
The most useful thing from the first week is the way we’re focusing on seeing who we are and who we want to be. Our actions will change effortlessly when we change who we are.
Thank you, Darren.
Keep up the great work eveyone else who is on the journey.
Sincerely,
Daniel G. Taylor

Darren, I do not know how many times I needed to cycle through the documents to even get entries for some of the points. The process has been an incredible experience. I approach next next installment with impatience and fear combined. Most interesting. Thank you so much for opening up this treasure chest and measuring out the bounty in a way that allows us to take it in without being overwhelmed. It has always been difficult to get a drink from a fire hydrant. May you be extraordinarily blessed for your efforts.

Darren,
When I first heard you speak (last year at our eXfuze convention) you said, “the only thing different between you and the people that are successful in this company is, YOU!” Among many other things, this has stuck with me and has been transfered into every aspect of my life. It’s so true. In relationships, in business, anywhere and everywhere, YOU are the differing factor. YOU have control to alter it all. It’s been a process for me and will continue to be so I’m sure, however I’ve discovered through HUGE effort, it CAN actually be done. I am winning. That one, seemingly small thought (of which I now refer to as the “YOU FACTOR”), has inspired me to embrace me, flaws and all, and turn Me into a success in all areas of my life. I thank the Higher Powers above for people like you that “get it” and are willing to share! Thank you for being one of my mentors. I hope that one day we’ll have the opportunity to meet in person, as for now, it will do to continue to listen and learn. It’s going to be a GREAT week!

Darren, first of all THANK YOU for even contemplating doing this for so many people. I have to tell you that writing the obituary was difficult, as it brings “life” right up to the surface. You were right, this is hard and tedious, and there are things that we would otherwise choose not to answer. But, I fully see the reason for answering these tough questions. I realize how much of my life that I thought I had “lived” hasn’t really been lived at all! I agree with someone who wrote that this should be done in high school. My husband and I will be sharing these questions with our kids, too! Thanks again…and have a very blessed day!

Wow, frankly I was not expecting a Wow …nevertheless hit with two eye opening (or is it I- opening?) insights (while completing Set 2)
Insight One: My initiating and reoccurring concern that something must be wrong, in my Life (series of small and large traumas, losses over the past 6 years, I thought was the reason)…replaced by understanding that a sense of being lost in a wilderness, wandering with a broken compass, is part of a transformative journey…In short, where I am, is where I am, make the most of it….the Journey continues..
Insight Two: I have both an outer and inner Self (selves), whose values do not (always) track well together. No wonder my interior compass keeps whirling in competing directions when I ask myself which way to go.
Inner Self prioritizes Being; in order to be Spirit led, demands freedom to joyfully explore where/when called, cares for Wellbeing of All, not attached to appearances or outcomes.
Outer self prioritizes Doing and Having; craves accomplishment, meaning and purpose, minimizes its need for at least self recognition for Making a Difference, and concerns it is lacking in something (time, discipline, money, energy, etc.)
Now to learn how to live within both sides of the Looking Glass!
Wow….Thank you!

Hello Darren and Success Magazine!
First, I’d like to say I love your magazine. As a professional on maternity leave, the articles, insights, and suggestions for personal/professional development are keeping my mind agile and my motivation for personal success alive and well! Second, I am thoroughly enjoying your “Best 10 Years” program. It not only fosters deep personal introspection but also encourages great topics of discussion between me and my husband. Thank you for the high quality products you consistently deliver. Melody

I am glad to be in the company of like-minded people who are committed to this process of developing and KEEPING our goals for a lifetime. I have to admit I have been hesitant to complete the 2nd set of worksheets because I know this will require deep introspection, but I’m committed to this process so I’m going to face my uncertainties NOW rather than later.
I thought reviewing my past was going to be hard, but I found that I did have more accomplishments than failures overall. I decided to not just focus on the accomplishments that were tied to my career or money, but also those intangibles that are just as important like relationships gained; unexpected opportunities; fears faced etc.
To me a big fear I faced (and I’m still working on) becoming an effective communicator -not just speaker – and I’m doing this through Toastmasters. This one decision has led to many accomplishments: new relationships gained; new skills developed/old skills sharpened; confidence restored and new opportunities have opened for me both professionally and personally.
I’m anticipating great things in 2010!

I wanted to leave this comment to personally thank you Darren for creating this forum for me and others to utilize. I have completed the first week of material and was reflecting on the information that it pulled from me during a long drive to an appointment today. I believe that the major theme that I have received from these activities thus far is how grateful I am for having the opportunities available for me and good people in my life to share the fruit of those opportunities. I truly believe that I have found the part of my own personal developement that has been missing for so long… my big WHY! Thanks again Darren for all of your help.

You are like a breath of fresh air!
I know this work is deep and introspective and I am making great stides, but on a liter note… I just want you to know that it is evident you are doing this out of the goodness of your heart. You have already succeeded in making a difference.
Thank You.

i feel like a goober, i cannot for the life of me get the worksheets. I very much want to get started and think I have signed up for all of this. I got your video update, but see no links “on the bottom” like it says. please advise or send them to me.
[DARREN HARDY] Steven, there are no links on the bottom of the video update email, only the installments sent out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’ll have the first two sent to you asap and you should receive the 3rd late tomorrow (12th) at the bottom of the next email installment.

One of my biggest problems is that I try to do too many things at one time. Right now, for instance, I am having the problem of picking a goals program out of the many I have. I have the Design Your Best Year Ever Book and just came across this program. Is there a difference, should I only do one, or would it be good to do both? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
[DARREN HARDY] The blog series is a much deeper, more comprehensive program and it takes you through designing 10 years versus just designing the best single year ever. Having the book is helpful because you will have a hard bound book to workout your 2010 goals and it comes with an Achievement Planner that will guide you through the rest of the year.

This is a lot of work but a very worthwhile process! I never had to think about my milestores for the last 10 years until now.

I feel the same as others – when I had to list milestones, it made me realize what I have not done in the past 53 years. I am “famous” for never finishing anything. This, I will finish. Thank you Darren

Darren,
I have just finished the 3rd worksheet, and I have to tell you, I am totally blown away. I have been decent about writing down goals, but have always struggled with completing them.
With this process, I have gained back a lot of ground that has not been front and center for a long time. During 2009, my wife was diagnosed with an acute form of cancer, and we were a lot closer to acknowledging mortality at the age of 30 then any other time in our lives. My wife is in remission, and she is doing great. For me this single event has provided me with the catalyst to really pour out all of my gifts and talents and seek to really help others change their lives. I know what I want my eulogy and epitaph will say, not it’s on to moving toward building that reality!
I also wanted to offer a quick tip. I complete my worksheets, and then keep a copy (copy the sheet at a 64% reduction) and put them in my day planner to look at each morning. Most importantly, I put my signed commitment at the very beginning, so I look at it each day and stay on track.
Thanks for this awesome program, I can’t wait for the next installment.

I look forward to going though this process. The last 10 years did not turn out the way I had envisioned it however as Tony Robbins says ” the past does not equal the future”. I am determined to create a better life for my family and myself and create a legacy that I will be proud of. I will rewrite my obituary so that I can be remebered for who and how I want to be rememberd.

I, too, wish this had been and would be taught through our school systems. Imagine the potential, the possibilities to improve our world and humanity given this information early on. Too often we people get trapped in a viscious cycle of behavior that just gets recycled.
I am 55 and have struggled to find the gift within that could make a difference in others’ lives. I begin to fear the downside of the next 20 to 30 years will not allow me to blossom but begin to decay – it cannot be true. Each of us no matter our age still has the God given talent to fulfill our life’s purpose. This will help me begin again and again as long as I have life in me.
Thank you for making this possible!!!!!

This is an outstanding program and I feel quite fortunate to be participating. I am responding to the suggestion that this type of program be introduced during our formal education years. Reflecting on my own youth, the serious personal investigation and analysis would have been virtually impossible. We need some life “mileage” to have the perspective, appreciation and incentive to complete a program like this.
In my opinion, there is a wide sweet spot for the age of folks who stand to benefit the most from this program. For the sake of argument, I offer the age range of 30 to 65.
Thanks to Darren and the staff at SUCCESS for all your work on this program !!

HELP me breath! FAST-this is what is happening! As you know I am loving this course, we are posting and Darren your work for the last few months well I am getting it. BUT my big thing when I get going – start the success train – I jumped off in the past – a few times. WHY because of this conditioning that life is hard – that I am a survivor. SO when I do this work and re-write what I want – and focus it moves fast because I am passionate and I can get out of the dumps, and I move mountains and we make money – we laugh and than I stand in front of an offer – and I go OH MY GOD! The tears the fear the holy @#$% this is real were not dreaming.
HOW do I stay here and keep going forward? My passion is real – I was offered a speakers engagement – our business is really growing – our kids are doing well – my marriage is happy, we have a savings account BUT the fear is real. I was raised that I was not to have this! If we were not struggling it was not life. HELP
[DARREN HARDY] Stay the course Tracy… you are doing great.

I penned my ‘dash’ several years ago. I shall now revisit it and revise it, looking once again at where I am and where I desire to go. It is the best way to actually see what has been accomplished and what is yet to be accomplished and the work/action steps needed to get there. To Mr. Hardy and the Success team, thank you all very much for your vision and mission of taking life on and living it to the fullest. I greatly appreciate your efforts and will continue to fight for my goals, visions and dreams – one action step at a time.

Heard you interviewed by Mortgage Coach. Great content on your site. Question – what camera and software do you use for your videos? It’s great quality!
[DARREN HARDY] Hi Dean, thanks even though I think it can improve. I just got delivery (5min ago) of an amateur lighting package in attempt to make it look better. Camera is the inexpensive Flip and I edit (just clip front and end off – when I get up to turn camera on and off) with the free iMovie software on my Mac. That’s it!

Looking over my life and my goals, was a very exciting process. I learned a lot about myself as well as things that I have accomplished and still want to accomplish. This process is great and I’m looking forward to the next step.

Thanks Darren – I can breath now. (Little upset before sorry)
I went back to the words I have been writing, I than began to review the new notes and I can see change – but can feel it for the first time in awhile. I guess I thought that when it all changed I would have a different house – maybe different stuff – I am finally understanding that all my stuff is the same but what I feel is different.
I was with my husband last night, reading and for the first time in a very long time, I looked at him differently. He certainly has not changed, but the things he would do that use to drive me insane – I was laughing at myself.
This morning when I went for my run, the snow was there, the cold, the same Jan as last year but it was really beautiful today – it seemed different.
I sit here working with a client that counter offered me and normally I would become harder – focused to the point of bold. Today I was polite and because I appreciate the opportunity – I approached everything differently.
Thank you so very much Darren – from your words on the CD about meeting with a mentor – I guess you and I are having lunch now!

Being consistent is key! I’m finding that in many areas of my life. It is saying what I want to do and doing it without stopping or forgetting to do what I said. The keeping with it is the hard part. (best for me to start working on muy “not enough time” conversation) I’m a bit behind in getting all the worksheets done and I WILL get them done. Be consistent, keep going, keep working the process.
There is something here for all of us to learn. I’m seeing there is nothing right or wrong here only becoming conscious of what I think, accept that or change my thoughts.

This is ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!! I have many friends who are really happy I got them involved as well..

Thank you for this opportunity, Darren. It is starting to register for me that this is not neccessarily an exercise about re invention. What jumped out at me most with 360 View, was that no one told me anything new! But by putting it down on paper I can refer back to it. It’s there, concrete, undeniable. In the past, I have dismissed these comments or not internalized them or re worked the intent in my head to be circumstantial. This time, the best and worst qualities are there to be reread and applied. Why wasn’t I able to answer some of the previous questions, …I found my answers in this exercise! It’s also changed the way that I am approaching each day personally and professionally and it truly is making a wonderful difference, its contagious, our children are starting be effected too. Thank You!

I’m quite sorry that I have only started now. :S
I was subscribed since the beginning, but as I took part in an Accredited Coach Training Progamme, I was just getting the mails; without doing the work.
And now – reviewing the video I got pretty frightened! FRIGHTENED that PAST is mentioned & that we shall recall our moments in it! :O
You know, for myself past = like a story lived in “other life”, so hardly any memories from it! Just “learned” things, that were told to me about it!
[I had a serious accident 6 years back. 3 moths uncosciousness, learning moving, long time till I started speaking, MCC from Asia has broken my mental barrier making me hold somebody/something for stability - almost a year after that accident... Though my memory has improved much, but troubles are still lasting.
]
YES, I know, that this will ba an amazing story for my clients coached!
But it’s pretty hard/impossible to try being “similar” in most of the things! Is it possible that “learning / resources” from PAST is nor really applicable to me? ;(
So you believe Darren, that I still have a chance to RE-START my life?
& you believe that COACHing is “the right way” 4 me?
Lucia from Slovakia
[DARREN HARDY] Of course you still have the chance to restart your life, Lucia. There are thousands of examples of people who only found their greatness and created great wealth starting after age 50, 60 and even post 70. Only you know if coaching is right for you. This process should have revealed that to you. Make sure there is an appropriate financial plan tied to it.

IPs matter. Having different Class-C’s is what you’re looking for. Idealy you should even have those different accounts on different servers rather than just having different Class-C’s coming from a single MAC address on a server. There are a number of hosts that do it, but what kind of budget are you looking at? How many sites, IPs etc?
